GENERAL WARDROBE GUIDELINES

Some traditional ‘business’ colours, such as some greys and navies, are difficult for you. They don’t make the most of your natural colouring. Instead, invest in golden browns, olives, camels and rusts, which are eminently professional and much more effective with your colouring.

Look for yellow, red or green undertones to your colours. Avoid white; instead, wear cream or buff. Choose a brick red rather than burgundy. Your blues are best if ‘warmed up’ with greenteal blue, for example.

You will look your most exciting if you think of an autumn landscape and put together blended golden tones like moss greens, mustards, terracotta and warm browns.

Black is not recommended unless it is kept clear of your face, that is, in your skirts or trousers. But it won’t work with all the other wonderful golden tones in your wardrobe. So why buy it?

Terracotta or cinnamon lipsticks and blusher will work with your whole wardrobe. When wearing red, match yours with a rich brick red, always avoiding blue-toned reds like the plague. Your eyes will look best if framed with a coffee or moss green pencil or teal blue if you have blue eyes. When applying eye-shadow, dust your eye-lids with apricot or light gold, and strengthen with a bronze, copper or brown shadow.
