GENERAL WARDROBE GUIDELINES

Your investment neutrals range from camel, stone and taupe to soft blue- grey and light-navy. Avoid dark, draining colours such as black or charcoal, which only make you look pale and insipid. Your white is ivory but better to opt for soft pastels such as apricot, buff, lemon, rose pink or sky blue when you need to offset your strongest colours like navy.

Have fun with bright colours, but be sure not to go too electric. Rather than a strong, royal blue try a clear, medium blue. A rich purple might overwhelm but if you mix with blue to make periwinkle you are on to a winner. Blue-greens are particularly nice on light women, and are very user-friendly colours.

Your red is best if clear, not too blue or deep. Mango or salmon pinks are fun alternatives when you want a new jacket to brighten up your basic skirts and trousers.

COMPLEMENTARY MAKE-UP

For everyday lipstick and blusher try a salmon or warm pink (if you know these warm tones look the most natural on you), or a plum rose (if you know the bluer-tones are your best). Avoid wearing frosted or pearlised lipsticks, which are too light and sporty for business; matt, medium shades are best for business. Define your eyes but not too strongly. Try a teal, grey or navy liner. For shadows: apricot or champagne with cocoa or soft grey will work with your whole wardrobe.
